(Blacking Out that Tacky Pink Screen on Novice Rev F mode)
Darryl170 put in an extra mode in his awesome port of Popeye, called "Novice Rev F". The Revision F/colored background is experienced under an original Revision F/Novice Arcade machine.
Here's some tidbits concerning Revision F Arcade:
Nonetheless, if wanting to play a Novice version of the game and the colored background, "Novice Rev F", is too bothersome, enter the following joystick combination at the Popeye title screen to make it just "Novice" with a black background:
Right, Down, Right, Up, Up, Down.
